This project was done for the Color + Surface course at Rhode Island School of Design. The initial process involved in students picking random colors to create a variety of palettes, and shapes to create interesting paatterns. Using this set of self-generated color palettes and patterns, the project culminated in the creation of final deliverables with an open medium.
My process of selecting colors and shapes for the generated variables turned out to be happy accidents, seemingly inspired by nature. I then decided to use these nature inspired variables as the starting point for an event branding, aimed at a botanical art exhibition. I went about mocking up materials such as posters and banners for a hypothetical event ‘Digital Nature’, using select color palettes and patterns for background elements and overall aesthetic choices.
